You don’t remember doing so because you were deceived. This program is not what you thought it was. You were promised a useful tool, yet, you received a malicious app. The must have arrived as an extra app to some free program you downloaded off the web. This method is known as freeware bundling. It is quite common nowadays. Developers would add additional programs to the installation files of many free programs. If the user selects the standard installation method, all those extras will be installed without further ado. Your approval will not be needed. This is the reason why you don’t remember installing this malicious tool. Yet, it is not too late to change your habits. From now on, when installing a program, opt for an advanced wizard. This method is not complicated. Neither is it time-consuming. Therefore, don’t hesitate to use it. Also, don’t skip the terms and conditions/EULA. This step can spare you tons of troubles in the future. Other malware distribution methods include corrupted ads, torrents, spam emails and fake software updates. Download your software from reliable websites only. Also, all those methods rely on your negligence. Don’t be careless anymore. Your computer’s security is your responsibility and yours only. Take it seriously.

Why is this dangerous?

The adware is exposing you to numerous ads. All of them are annoying and distracting, but they can be dangerous too. Did you know that hackers often use adware applications to spread malicious content? Well, they do. The people behind the adware are greedy. Anyone willing to spend some money can use their software to promote. If you have the misfortune to click on a corrupted ad, you will be redirected to an infected website. There, a drive-by download will be executed. These types of downloads are automatic and almost completely invisible. They are often used for malware distribution. The Internet is bursting with all kinds of dangerous parasites. You have the adware infection to deal with. Don’t risk getting infected with something more dangerous. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. The adware is constantly spying on you. It is cataloging your online activities. Once the tool has sufficient data about you, it will make it available for sale to third parties. Is that what you want?
