Can’t Remove hijacker virus? This page includes detailed Removal instructions!

So, the website is your new homepage. Do you like it? What is there to be liked. It is a blank page with a search bar. Nothing special. Then, why did you set it as your new homepage? You didn’t do it by yourself, did you? It appeared out of the blue. We have some bad news. You have the browser hijacker on board. This infection modified your browser’s settings without your consent. The website looks normal, however, it is hazardous. When you make a search inquiry, you will notice that the results for images and the general web results are provided by different search engines. At least, it appears so. In reality, all search results are corrupted. The hijacker injects fake entries among the results. These, most of the time, are advertisements. However, they are not marked as such. You will never be sure which search results are organic and which are paid to be there. But this is not the end of it. The hijacker will place ads on every web page you visit. At the same time, it will block all advertisements by its competitors. It is robbing you of your free choice. Eventually, you will lose track of the current prices. Don’t become an easy target. Remove this intruder immediately.

How did I get infected with?

The hijacker didn’t appear as if by magic. It was part of a bundle that you installed. Yes, you gave it your permission to operate on your system. Unfortunately, there is no other way. But don’t be too harsh on yourself. You were cleverly deceived. The utility wasn’t the program you thought it was. Developers add additional programs to the installation files of many free apps. They would hide these extras under advanced tabs and buttons. They would also make anything to discourage the user from clicking on those buttons. If you hover your mouse over such an advanced button, a text will appear. You will read that the custom/advanced installation is a complicated process, suitable for IT experts only. Don’t fall for that. This method is not complicated. Neither is it time-consuming. Anyone can use it. Don’t underestimate yourself. Only by using the advanced option can you see all additional programs that are about to be installed and deny their installation. We recommend deselecting all additional software. If you truly needed such tools, you would have downloaded them by yourself. Don’t burden your computer with too many apps, you will only slow it down. Keep the essentials and the programs you use frequently.

Why is this dangerous?

Dealing with the hijacker you must have noticed that all of the ads you are seeing have something to do with your interests, hobbies or needs. You are not imagining it. Those adverts were selected for you. The hijacker monitors all your online activities and uses the data to select advertisements that will appeal to you. In other words, it is spying on you. Your favorite websites, the pages you view and even your browsing history are no mystery to the furtive utility. There is no privacy anymore. The hijacker will make that information available for sale to third parties. Yes, as strange as it may sound, there are people willing to buy such data. You won’t be so surprised once we tell you that the hijacker can steal your user names and passwords. What will you do if a hacker buys this information? You may lose real money or become a victim of identity theft. Don’t risk your security. The browser hijacker is relatively easy to be removed. Yet, only if caught on time. Take the appearance of the website as a warning. Use our guide to remove this pest manually. If you are not confident in your computer skills, download a trustworthy anti-virus program and run a full scan. Delete all suspicious files and folders. Your computer’s security is your responsibility and yours only. Download software from reliable websites only. When installing a program, forget about the “next-next-finish” installation method. Be vigilant and opt for advanced button or tab. Also, read the terms and conditions/EULA. If you spot anything out of the ordinary, abort the installation immediately. In addition, remember that your anti-virus software is your last defense wall. Keep it up to date!
