The appearance of the website as your new homepage is bad news. This page is nothing but trouble. It appears to be an endless stream of news articles, with a search bar for fast access to anything on the web. Not a bad choice for a homepage, isn’t it? Well, it is actually one of the worst possible choices. First of all, you should not put up with the fact that someone forced this page on you. This is your computer. You are the one who chooses the start page. Second, this site is just the front of a nasty browser hijacker infection. The hijacker entered your PC unnoticed and is now wreaking havoc on it. It changed your homepage and default search engine. All search results you are seeing are corrupted. They do look provided by a well-known search engine, yet, in reality, the hijacker injects fake entries among them. Don’t trust anything you see on your screen while this parasite remains active on your device. Hackers often use such tools to spread corrupted ads and links. One click is all it takes for a dangerous virus to be downloaded to your machine. What will you do if this happens? It is best if you remove the utility as soon as possible. Use our guide to do it manually. If you are not confident in your computer skills, use a trustworthy anti-virus program.

How did I get infected with?

The hijacker is a program that managed to lure you into installing it on your system. Do you remember doing it? It is not a surprise if you don’t. After all, this tool did not ask you openly. Such apps use trickery to get your permission. You won’t even realize what is going on until it’s too late. Not until the dreaded website appears. This infection succeeded only because you were careless. How often do you install free programs? Frequently? And how often do you choose the advanced installation method? If your answer is not “always”, you must change your habits. Developers add extra programs to the installation files of many free programs. Only by using the custom installation wizard can you see and deny the installation of those extras. Be vigilant and doubting! Your caution today can save you many troubles in the future.

Why is this dangerous?

The hijacker is exposing you to numerous advertisements. Have you noticed that all of them are related to your recent online activities? Well, you are not imagining it. The hijacker chose those ads for you. It is constantly spying on you and uses the collected information to pick the right advertisements. Yet, that is not the only use of the data it collected. The hijacker is designed to make money for its owners. It will sell your information to third parties. And this is something you would like to avoid. The malicious tool can steal your email addresses, usernames and passwords. You would not want this information to become a possession of some dangerous hacker, wouldn’t you? The troubles this hijacker is bringing to you are not ending here. This malicious program can create an ad-layer which is forcing advertisements on all opened websites. Even on the ad-free ones. At the same time, it is blocking content from its competitors. You are seeing only what the hijacker allows you to see. Thus, it robs you of your free choice of information sources. Eventually, you will lose track of the current situation on the market. Don’t become an easy target. Remove this threat immediately.
