How did I get infected with?

More_eggs malware uses classic distribution strategies. It relies on the good old spam emails. And there is a good reason for that. This distribution trick is very effective. It might surprise you, but the spam emails are still the number one cause of Trojan infections. The method might be the same, but the scheme is very different. The crooks no longer rely merely on corrupted attachments. They also use malicious links. You can download a virus with just one click of the mouse. Do not give into naivety. No anti-virus app can protect you if you toss caution to the wind. Only your actions can keep your device secure and infection-free. Treat all unexpected messages as potential threats. Always verify the senders. If, for example, you receive an email from a company, go to their official website. Compare the email addresses listed there to the questionable one. If they don’t match, delete the pretender immediately. You can also enter the suspicious email addresses into a search engine. If they were used for questionable operations, someone might have complained online. Do not let your guard down. The Internet is a dangerous place. You can never know where a parasite might strike from. Always take the time to do your due diligence. Even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems.
