However, you should not be too harsh on yourself. The malicious program has many tricks up its sleeve. You just happen to be vulnerable to one of them. The Eni.Dentgibber.com app could have arrived as a bundled program to some freeware you downloaded off the web. Developers often hide extra programs under custom/advanced buttons. The only way to stop the installation of those extras is to use the advanced installation wizard. Don’t hesitate to choose it. There is nothing complicated in it. It is a simple step-by-step installation process. Other malware distribution methods include spam emails, torrents and corrupted links or ads. The key to an infection-free computer is caution. When installing an app, opt for advanced tab or button. Also, read the terms and conditions. If you spot anything out of the ordinary, abort the installation immediately.

Why is this dangerous?

Everything you do online is no longer private. The Eni.Dentgibber.com app is monitoring your online activities and uses the collected data to select ads that will appeal especially to you. Thus, for example, if you enter “sneakers” into some search engine, the hijacker will bombard you with tons of ads for similar items. However, those ads are not your friends. The malicious program has no checking mechanisms. Anyone willing to pay can use it to promote anything, including uncertificated or even illegal products and services. Furthermore, the hijacker creates a virtual layer which blocks ads from its competitors.
