Ocean Setup is an intrusive parasite that falls under the Adware category. It is not a full-fledged virus, but it’s just as menacing. Ocean Setup adware sneaks into your OS and wreaks utter havoc. It follows programming to corrupt your web browsers and to turn them into ad-displaying tools. The adware injects various ads on every website you visit. You would notice that even web pages that used to be ad-free are now heavy on in-text and banner ads. Coupons and discounts pop up every time you as much as touch your browser. Even your online videos get paused for commercial breaks. That’s right! It’s the adware. It forces these ads on you. When you click on them, it gets paid. The more you see, the bigger the chance you click. Ocean Setup adware drowns its victims in a sea of adverts. The intrusive parasite constantly increases the number of its adverts. It gets more and more aggressive with each passing day. If you, however, refuse to click, the adware changes its strategy and starts browser redirection. Ocean Setup adware loads third-party websites directly in new tabs and windows. Do you feel comfortable knowing that any web page out there may pop-up on your screen? The adware has no filters. It displays inappropriate content, as well as redirects traffic to deceptive websites. Do not put up with this situation. Remove the adware before it gets a chance to get you in trouble!

How did I get infected with?

Ocean Setup adware doesn’t target individual users. It uses mass-distribution methods to reach a broad spectrum of potential victims. The adware relies on torrents, fake updates, and software bundles. These methods, however, are not flawless. They spread the adware, but they don’t install it. Only you, the user, can do that. Only you can install the adware. If you, however, don’t pay attention to the fine print, if you ignore the red flags, you are very likely to install the adware. Don’t let your guard down. No anti-virus app can protect you if you act recklessly. Only your caution can keep your device secure and virus-free. Don’t visit shady websites. Download software from reputable sources only. And forget about the “Next-Next-Finish” installation strategy. When available, use the advanced/custom setup option. Don’t rush. If bonus programs are about to get installed alongside the app you’ve downloaded, deselect them. These third-party apps, more often than not, are parasites like Ocean Setup. Make sure you know what you install. Read the terms and conditions before you agree to them. If you cannot spare enough time to go through the whole document, scan it with an online EULA analyzer. Even a little extra attention goes a long way! Always do your due diligence!

The parasite studies your browsing habits and uses the collected data against you. It uses the data for ad targeting, as well as sells access to it. Anyone willing to spend some money can use the adware and its resources. Numerous crooks are more than willing to open their wallets. They create customized adverts and push them to your browser.
