How did I get infected with?
PUPs are rather sneaky. They use deception and finesse to sneak into your PC. Not only do they manage that, but they do it undetected. Yes, they keep you oblivious to their infiltration. Tat may seem odd, considering they need your consent to enter. But it’s fact. Here’s the thing. The tool has to ask if you approve its entry. And, can proceed with admission, only if you permit it. No permission, no access. It’s quite simple. But, though, it does have to seek your consent, it doesn’t have to do it outright. So instead of the straightforward approach, it chooses the opposite one. Yes, the infection asks if you agree to allow it in. But it does it in the snakiest way possible. Like, lurking behind freeware or spam emails. Or, corrupted links. Or, even posing as a fake update. It has an array of possible methods of invasion. It’s up to you to look past its deceit, and spot it trying to invade. Catch it in the act, and deny its entry! Always take the time to be thorough. Infections, like the Error DT00X2 one, prey on carelessness. So, don’t grant it. Choose caution, instead.
