How did I get infected with Zoohair?

Zoohair did not appear as if by magic. This program used trickery to slither into your device. It might have arrived in a bundle. Developers often attach additional apps to the installation files of many free programs. They would also try to push you into using the standard installation method. This option is not the one you should use. The standard/fast installation wizard is completely automatic. Once you select it, you give it your full consent. From that point onward, your approval will no longer be needed. The wizard will install all additional programs. However, there is a way to prevent this. Use the advanced installation method. This process is not complicated. Neither is it time-consuming. Under it, you will be given a choice. Deselect all extra programs. You don’t need these apps. If you actually wanted or needed such tools, you would have downloaded them by yourself. Don’t let anyone dictate how you should use your computer. Other PUP distribution techniques involve torrents, corrupted links, and spam messages. The key to a secure computer is caution. Whatever you do online, be vigilant. Don’t follow questionable links. Never rush through an installation process. Opt for an advanced installation tab or button. And read the terms and conditions. If you think that something looks suspicious, abort the installation immediately. In addition, keep your anti-virus software up to date. It is, after all, your last defense wall.

Why is Zoohair dangerous?

The Zoohair PUP is in no way as dangerous as Trojans are. However, this infection should not be underestimated. This tool is constantly monitoring your browser-related data. Yet, some personally identifiable information may be exposed, too. Yes, that is right. This tool is spying on you. And if you are not careful, it can “see” your usernames and passwords. Credit card details and email addresses can also be recorded. Zoohair collects information to target advertisements for you. However, it is also selling the data to third parties. Unfortunately, there are many potential buyers. They range from desperate marketing agents to dangerous hackers. The longer this parasite remains on your device, the more dangerous it becomes. Do yourself a favor and remove it. The sooner, the better.
