How did I get infected with

A PUP opens the ads. This parasite sneaks into your computer and makes a mess out of your browser. Don’t, however, imagine ingenious cyber-attacks. The PUP is a simple app that uses trickery to lure you into installing it. That’s the thing about these parasites. They need you, the user, to approve their access. No permission, no admission. The parasites, of course, know how to ask. They hide in malicious bundles, fake updates, corrupted links, spam messages, and pirated software. There are myriads of PUP distribution methods. These tricks, however, share a common limitation – the need you to give into naivety. The PUP parasites rely on your gullibility and recklessness. They wait in the shadows and wait for you to throw caution to the wind. Do not make that mistake! No anti-virus app is powerful enough to protect you if you act recklessly. Only your diligence can prevent infections. The good news is that even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. So, don’t be lazy. Choose caution over carelessness!

Why is dangerous?

The ads are a plague. They cover every website you load, pop up out of the blue, pause your videos. Dozens and dozens of ads interrupt your every activity. The numerous banners, hyperlinks, and notifications, of course, burden your browser and cause performance issues such as freezing and crashes. You face an avalanche of errors and malfunctions. Sadly, you also face a security issue! Just take a close look at the “Ads by” notifications and you’ll realize that the PUP infection is worse than you’ve originally imagined. The ads are not random but targeted at you! They are based on the websites you visit, the links you follow, the videos you watch. That’s because you are under surveillance! The PUP studies your browsing habits and uses your preferences against you. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The parasite not only turns you into an easy target but also threatens to leak confidential details. That’s right – the PUP doesn’t keep the collected data confidential. Quite the contrary – it sells everything. Do you feel comfortable knowing that any crook out there can buy your data? What if some pieces of data, your search queries, for example, leak personal and financial details? Don’t waste time in debates! Your best course of action is the immediate removal of the PUP. Take action as soon as the ads pop up. Delete the intruder ASAP!
