Remove WebHelper Malware

Can’t Remove WebHelper? This page includes detailed WebHelper Removal instructions!

WebHelper is a dangerous parasite. This malware monitors your online behavior, as well as records your keystrokes. It is a spy that lurks in the background and analyzes your every move. The malware doesn’t have an interface so you can’t see it, but if you use programs such as uTorrent or BitTorrent, you can go to their services in your Task Manager and expand their drop-down lists. The malware should be right there, listed as webhelper.exe. To notice the parasite, however, you don’t need to “see” it. This menace affects your computer’s performance significantly. WebHelper eats up computer resources and causes your device to underperform, as well as to radiate heat. It might also prevent your PC from going into Sleep Mode. And as if that’s not annoying enough, but the malware also floods you with countless ads. WebHelper displays hundreds of banner and pop-up ads on every website you visit. You will notice that even web pages that used to be ad-free get heavy on coupons and discounts. No ad-blocking app is powerful enough to shield you from the ads. Pop-ups appear out of the blue. Random text turns into hyperlinks. Questionable websites load in new tabs. The malware always finds a way to interrupt you with ads. Click nothing, of course. The ads are unreliable and potentially malicious. Do not test your luck! Remove the malware before it gets a chance to cause you harm! That’s your best course of action.

How did I get infected with WebHelper?

WebHelper travels the web hidden in software bundles, fake updates, corrupted links, and pirated software. It is associated with uTorrent and BitTorrent, and often gets installed with the free versions of these apps. This menace hides in the shadows and attacks when you let your guard down. Do not make its job easier. As advanced as this malware may seem, it can’t get installed without your permission. The parasite needs you to approve its access. No permission, no admission! WebHelper is bound to seek your consent. And it does. It always asks. But it does so in the sneakiest, most deceitful way possible. This parasite hides in the fine print. It gets installed when you “forget” to deny it access. Do not make that mistake! No anti-virus app can protect you if you throw caution to the wind. Only your diligence can prevent infections. The good news is that even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. So, don’t be lazy. Always take the time to do your due diligence. Don’t visit questionable websites. Download software and updates from reliable (preferably official) sources only. And forget about the “Next-Next-Finish” setup strategy. When available, use the advanced/custom installation option. Deselect the bonus apps that are about to get installed and go through the terms and conditions. Don’t hesitate to abort the installation if you notice anything suspicious!

Why is WebHelper dangerous?

WebHelper is a complete and utter menace. Problems follow as soon as it infects your computer. Your device becomes sluggish. It radiates heat and barely loads your apps. Pop-ups and notifications flood your screen every time you so much as touch your browser. Ads cover every website you visit. These issues are annoying and irritating. They, however, are just the symptoms of the malware infection. The true danger is noticeable only if you take a look at the ads. They are not random but targeted at you. That’s how WebHelper operates. It monitors your browsing habits and uses your preferences against you. And it doesn’t stop here. The malware also records your keystrokes. It might steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, banking, and credit card details, contact information. There is nothing private anymore. This malware knows your every online move.
