How did I get infected with?

PC infections of that kind usually infiltrate computers using rather unfair and secretive methods. That should be your first red flag considering shoppr – anything that enters your machine behind your back, is not to be trusted. You probably hadn’t even heard of that program before it manifested its presence on your PC. Then how did it end up there? Many people tend to install bundled freeware without paying much attention to the Terms and Conditions they accept. Unfortunately, this is a golden opportunity for hackers to mess with you. All they have to do is attach some infection to the programs in the bundle; everything from this moment on is entirely on you. You can easily avoid the virus by selecting the Advanced/Custom option in the Installation Wizard, however, thousands of people fall victims to this outrageous trickery every year. Also, keep in mind that paying those extra 5 minutes to read the Terms and Conditions might save you a lot more time and trouble. Stay away from all kinds of spam emails, messages and unknown websites unless you deliberately want to get your computer infected.

Why are these ads dangerous?

Shoppr certainly isn’t safe and it will only become more and more harmful as time passes. The virus is able to collect information such as your IP addresses, browsing history, passwords, search queries, etc., but it might also try to steal some other personally identifiable data. All of it goes directly to hackers and it’s entirely up to them how to use it. Quite a scary thought, isn’t it? What’s even scarier is that crooks will not hesitate to use your own browsing-related information against you. You will notice that the ads shoppr distributes are becoming relevant to your interests thus more tempting for you to click. The only reason why hackers desire your clicks so desperately is to generate profit. Obviously their interests mismatch yours. If they get paid enough, hackers would redirect you to any website. That means clicking the ads not only makes cyber criminals a little bit richer, but also exposes you to numerous threats. There are more than enough corrupted websites on the Internet that are filled with parasites, how could you be sure shoppr doesn’t lead you straight to one of them? Apart from the ads, you also want to stay away from any kind of software the virus might offer you to install. The good news is, you might not even be able to see these bogus offers because the shoppr ads will probably cover up your entire PC screen. Doing anything online will become quite the struggle as the shoppr virus distributes a huge variety of pop-ups, pop-unders, in-texts, different coupons and discounts, deals and so on. What they all have in common is the fact they’re all incredibly annoying and they’re all unreliable. To get rid of the ads you have to delete shoppr. If you want to do that manually, you can follow the removal guide down bellow.
