How did I get infected with?

ShoppingGid is highly resourceful and skilled when it comes to gaining access to your computer. As the program is quite masterful in the arts of deceit, it has no problem fooling you into allowing it in. In fact, it not only dupes you into giving it the green light, but also keeps you oblivious to the fact that you did. ShoppingGid sneaks in undetected by resorting to the old but gold methods of invasion. More often than not, the program uses freeware, corrupted links or websites, or spam email attachments as a shield to hide behind. However, it can also pose as a false program or system update. For example, while you may be convinced that you’re updating your Adobe Flash Player or Java, in actuality, you’re installing a hazardous adware. If you wish to keep ShoppingGid away from your computer, you have to be more careful. Don’t let haste, naivety, and distraction guide you for they’ll only leave you to regret. They’re not your friends, but rather your enemies, so treat them as such.

Why are these ads dangerous?

ShoppingGid’s selling point is that it’s a helpful tool that assists you in saving money. It claims to show you all the best deals and bargains and give you coupons for various online sales. The tool provides you with this amazing-sounding information through its never-ending pop-up ads. Too bad it’s no good as it’s entirely useless to you. Confused? Well, don’t be. When you look past the smoke and mirrors of advertisement, it becomes quite evident that this is nothing more than a mere marketing ploy. ShoppingGid doesn’t help you at all. In fact, it harms you as the negatives far outweigh the positives. If you’re foolish enough to fall for the application’s schemes and click on its ads in order to take advantage of these “deals”, you won’t save money. You’ll help the tool generate web traffic and pay-per-click revenue for the third parties that support it. And, while they’re making money off of you, all you’ll have to show for it is more malware slithering its way into your system. That’s right. A single click, by accident or choice, leads to you unwillingly agreeing to install more malevolent tools. So, do what’s best for you and your computer, and avoid clicking on the immensely unreliable ads. Or better yet, delete the ShoppingGid tool altogether, and avoid dealing with all of these problems and the severe security issue. Yes, the program places you at grave risk. Once it settles on your PC, the application starts spying on you in order to steal your personal and financial information, so it can hand it off to the people behind it. Are you willing to trust strangers with agendas with your private life? Think long and hard before you answer.
