The application requires your approval before it installs itself, but don’t think that because of that, you’ll see it coming. Because you won’t. It’s so sly in its methods of infection that you’ll realize you let it in, only after the ads start popping up. Until then, you’ll be oblivious to its existence. Some of rePrice’s preferred methods include the use of spam email attachments, corrupted websites, and corrupted links. Also, it often poses as a false system or program update. However, freeware is its usual weapon of choice as it provides possibly the easiest access point. Most users don’t pay enough attention when going through its installation process, and choose to rush through it. They don’t read the terms and conditions, and instead agree to everything in haste. That’s certainly the way to go, if you want to end up with adware like rePrice. If you don’t, be more careful!

Why are these ads dangerous?

rePrice is an ad-supported application, which means that it has to generate pay-per-click revenue for the third parties behind it, in order to continue its operations. If you’re wondering how it manages to do that, think of the incessant pop-up ads. That’s right. This is why the program floods you with so many of them. Every ad, it tricks you into clicking on, is profit for these unknown individuals. As annoying as this waterfall of ads may be, it’s not nearly as harmful as rePrice’s primary objective. This program is specifically designed to make money off of you. And other than through the ads, it can also fulfill that goal by stealing your personal and financial information. As soon as it infects your system, the application starts to keep track of your browsing activities, catalog every move you make, and then send the collected data to these aforementioned people.
