How did I get infected with PConverter?

Malicious tools like PConverter are masters of deceit. They’re so skilled in their sneakiness that they slither in undetected. They dupe you into allowing them in, while keeping you clueless about it. And, that’s impressive. Infections like this one are bound to gain your permission to enter. If you don’t – no admission. And, since they can’t just pop up and demand access, they turn to trickery. After all, if they ask you in the open, you can say ‘no.’ And, they can’t have that. So, instead, they ask covertly via slyness and subtlety. Their preferred methods include hiding behind freeware or spam email attachments. Or, corrupted links or sites. Or, posing as a fake update. Like, Adobe Flash Player or Java. Whichever method the PUP chooses to use, it’s useless without your carelessness. So, don’t grant it. Be extra vigilant. Always take the time to read the terms and conditions. Don’t just blindly agree to everything, and hope for the best. Instead of relying on luck or chance, rely on due diligence. Caution goes a long, long way.

Why is PConverter dangerous?

PConverter by My Way is created by Mindspark Interactive LTD. It’s an adware-type application, and it works in a pretty standard manner. It follows the typical programming of such tools. In other words, it infiltrates your system by means of deceit. Then, it acts up and proceeds to corrupt it. It begins with your browsing. Every time you use your browser, it announces its presence. How? Well, it redirects to unknown websites, which are far less than reliable. And, it also bombards you with countless ads, which are even more unreliable. If you press a single pop-up, by accident or choice, your situation worsens. Why? Well, the ads conceal unwanted malicious programs. And, by clicking on them, you agree to install the malware, they’re hiding. So, unless you want to flood your PC with cyber threats, do NOT press a single pop-up, the PUP shows you. But even that isn’t the worst part if having PUP adware. The absolute worst is the security risk. As was already explained, PConverter spies on you. It begins to do so as soon as it settles in your system. It keeps track of your browsing, and catalogs your every move. When it decides it has enough, it sends it. To whom, you might ask? Well, to the third parties that unleashed it onto the web. These unknown individuals will then have access to private information. They’ll have your personal and financial details at their disposal. Will you let them get their hands on your private life? Or, are you going to protect yourself and your system?
