How did I get infected with?

Chances are, you have no idea when Musicloud entered your device. What’s important is that it somehow managed to bypass your anti-virus system and is currently wreaking havoc on your machine. Being an adware program, the most plausible explanation how you got stuck with Musicloud is through bundled software. Bundles are not only a convenient option for PC users but also a convenient way for hackers to infect their computers. That’s why you should be extremely careful when it comes to software (especially if it’s for free!). Always opt for the Advanced/Custom option when you download programs off of the Internet and avoid third-party web links because they are highly unreliable. You can only trust legitimate websites but even then out advice is to go through the Terms and Conditions of what you’re about to install. Remember – there could be some term or condition that will cause you nothing but a headache. Of course, there is always the slight possibility that you installed Musicloud voluntarily because it sounded like a good idea at the time. Other methods that cyber crooks seem to particularly enjoy are spam email-attachments, corrupted web links and fake messages, so keep an eye open for such trickery.

Why are these ads dangerous?

First of all, this is a computer virus so you can’t really expect it to be safe. The way Musicloud works is, it creates a browser extension which is compatible with the three most frequently used browsers – Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. Then it modifies your once trusty browser and forces it to display the Musicloud ads. The virus distributes a huge variety of pop-ups, pop-unders, in-texts, banners, suspicious-looking coupons, fake discounts and bogus offers. Stay away from all of them, no matter how tempting they are. As the virus collects browsing-related information and adjusts the ads to your interests, the commercials might catch your attention. Why do hacker make such efforts to get your click? Because the widely popular pay-par-click system allows them to generate illegal profit through your clicks. Unless you want to donate money to crooks, avoid the ads. What’s a lot more troublesome, however, is the fact that all of these ads are unreliable. You will be redirected to every single website whose owner pays enough money. Is there any guarantee this page wouldn’t be infectious and harmful? Absolutely not. Also, keep in mind that the Musicloud virus might start displaying fake program updates and you simply cannot risk to install anything brought to you by the virus. You might end up installing malware. Basically Musicloud doesn’t deviate from the typical adware pattern and has to be uninstalled before it gets out of hand. If you want to get rid of this nasty parasite manually, please follow the instructions bellow.
