How did I get infected with?

Many programs are ad-supported, or adware, even some perfectly genuine ones that users download from official websites. However, this is not the case with MiuiTab. This program has been created for monetary purposes only and for its distribution it relies on popular methods used by the majority of unreliable software programs. One of the most common distribution methods of adware is known to be software bundling. It involves installation of additional software which takes place during the setup process of chosen freeware and is performed silently. Users are usually informed about the additional programs that get installed along with the one they have downloaded, but they do not have the habit of completing each installation step carefully and reading all the information provided by the setup wizard. If you want to prevent installing dubious programs in future, you should consider being more attentive when it comes to choosing software sources and performing setup.

Why is this dangerous?

We mentioned earlier that MiuiTab has been created for monetary purposes. The developers of this program earn money by promoting content provided by third-party sponsors. This content is presented to users in the form of ads that appear on the websites the access. The problem with the content promoted by MiuiTab ads is that it is not reviewed before it is presented to users. Anyone who is willing to pay can promote their products and services through MiuiTab, and that includes cyber criminals. You can imagine what content cyber criminals will expose you to, so it is only logical that you should stay away from it i.e. from MiuiTab ads. You should know that this could be a difficult tasks because the ads are very persistent as the more of them you click the more money the developers of the program will receive. Hence, avoiding MiuiTab ads may not be as simple as it seems. The most efficient way you could do that is by removing the program generating them, so do not hesitate to delete the MiuiTab adware right now.
