How did I get infected with?

The J2Ancheta emails usually pop up by courtesy of scamware. The parasite sneaks into your computer and floods you with deceptive content. Don’t, however, imagine cyber-attacks. This parasite is not a virus but a standard app that has many limitations. The scamware, for example, can’t get installed without your (the user’s) consent. No permission, no admission! The parasite is bound to seek your approval. Note, however, that having to ask is not the same as having to do so outright. The parasite is a trickster that steals your “yes” in the sneakiest way possible. It does so through bundles, fake updates, corrupted links, and pirated software. It hides in the shadows and preys on naive users. Don’t make its job easier! Choose caution over carelessness. Your diligence can prevent infections! Even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. Don’t visit dodgy websites. Download software and updates from reputable sources only. And don’t skip installation steps. Forget about the “Next-Next-Finish” strategy. When available, use the advanced/custom setup wizard. Deselect the bonus apps and go through the terms and conditions. Don’t hesitate to abort an installation process if you notice anything suspicious!

Why are these ads dangerous?

The J2Ancheta Scam is a nasty one. Its messages pop up out of the blue and ruin your mood. It pushes you into unwanted action by taking advantage of common misconceptions and fears. Don’t make mistakes! If you open your wallet, there is no going back. You are dealing with experienced manipulators. The scammers want Bitcoin – an untraceable currency. No one can help you get your money back if something goes wrong. So, don’t swing into action. Take the time to consider your options. Note that the J2Ancheta messages don’t mention your real name nor username. They don’t specify which website infected your computer. And most importantly, they don’t provide proof of the video’s existence. The scammers have nothing against you! If you pay the ransom, you’ll only encourage their criminal activities. Delete their emails and run a virus scan. If you detect issues, let your anti-virus app fix them and forget about the scam. Don’t let the J2Ancheta emails ruin your day!
