How did I get infected with?

The adware didn’t appear out of thin air. Do you remember installing it? You did. You may have no memory of doing so, but you did. Current Me sought your permission on its admission, and you gave it. Adware applications have to ask whether you, the user, agree to install them. Only if you say YES, can they follow through with the invasion. No approval, no access. It seems simple enough, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not a sure enough method of keeping infections out, as you may think. That’s because, these infections have found a loophole. They still ask for your consent, but they do it in the most covert way possible. Let’s elaborate. The most common invasive method is freeware. That’s because, users tend to throw caution to the wind, when installing it. They leave their fate to luck. And, that’s what infections, like Current Me, count on. They rely on your carelessness, haste, and gullibility. Why grant them? Always take the time to be thorough. Even a little extra attention goes a long way. Other sneaky methods include the use of spam emails, and corrupted links. As well as, supposed updates. That’s right. The adware often poses as a false system or program update. Like, Adobe Flash Player or Java. It’s up to you to catch it in the act, and keep it from slithering in. Do your due diligence! Vigilance helps to keep cyber threats out of your PC. The lack thereof does the opposite.

Why is this dangerous?

Current Me promises assistance. It claims to be a legitimate and helpful tool. One, you can use to get “beautiful” backgrounds. As well as, information based on your current location. Like, time, date, weather forecasts, et cetera. As you may have already gathered, that’s a lie. Current Me is a phony and harmful cyber threat. One, you should remove from your system the first chance you get. If you don’t, you risk getting your private details stolen. And, then, exposed to strangers. Oh, yes. Current Me follows programming to spy o your browsing habits. And, record every single online move you make. After it deems it has gathered enough data, it proceeds to send it. It hands it over to the unknown individuals that published the application. These are malicious third parties with questionable intentions. Not people, you want to get access to your most sensitive information. Don’t allow the adware to provide them with it. Protect yourself, and your system, from Current Me. Locate and remove the nasty threat.
