How did I get infected with?

Baggie Setup is not a virus. It can’t “hack” your computer. This parasite is a simple app. It follows standard installation procedures. The adware needs you, the user, to approve its installation. It, however, does not need straightforwardness. Baggie Setup seeks your consent in the sneakiest, most deceitful way possible. It hides in software bundles, fake updates, and corrupted links. The adware lurks in the shadows and preys on your naivety. Its tricks succeed when you throw caution to the wind. Do not make that mistake! No anti-virus app can protect you if you give into naivety. Only your vigilance can keep your PC free of infections. Even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. So, don’t be lazy. Always take the time to do your due diligence! Don’t visit questionable websites. Download software and updates from reliable, preferably official, sources only. And don’t rush through the installation processes. Most of the apps we download off the web come bundled with bonus software. If you don’t pay attention to the red flags, you are very likely to install malicious extras. Don’t rely on luck! Choose caution over carelessness. If available, use the advanced/custom setup option. Deselect the unwanted extras and go through the terms and conditions. If you can’t read the whole document, scan it with an online EULA analyzer. Don’t hesitate to abort the installation if you notice anything suspicious!

Why is this dangerous?

Baggie Setup sneaks into your computer and throws you into a whirlwind of “Ads by Baggie Setup.” Whether you watch a video or browse your favorite website, the adware is always there to annoy you. Its countless ads interrupt your every online activity. They are annoying, meddling, and very irritating. They, however, are also your warning. They are based on the websites you visit, the links you follow, the videos you watch. There are even ads based on your activities under the Incognito mode. That’s because you are under constant online surveillance! The adware studies your browsing habits and uses the collected data to turn you into an easy target. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Baggie Setup also sells the information to third parties. Do you feel comfortable knowing that the parasite sells your data to unknown individuals with questionable agendas?
