MyShopMate is an adware application. Its selling point is that it’s something entirely different. But it’s a lie. Despite putting an effort to pass itself as useful and reliable, it’s not. It’s nothing more than a potentially unwanted program. One, which bombards you with harmful pop-up advertisements. All the time. The tool claims that it assists you in your online shopping. Supposedly, it helps you save money. It states that if offers coupons and news of all the best bargains and deals. But, again, it’s all lies. MyShopMate is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It does its best to pass as a trustworthy tool, but the facade cracks in no time. Just take a look at the program’s usefulness. So, it says that it’s helpful because you end up saving money if you turn to it. However, that’s an unsubstantiated statement. Even if you disregard the malware-ridden pop-ups, it floods you with and passes as coupons. Even if you look past the slower PC and frequent system crashes. You do NOT save money by using the application! If anything, you lose them. Why? Well, the PUP is designed to target your private data. And, that includes your personal and financial information. Draw your conclusions as you may. But don’t trust the tool! Do NOT fall into the trap it lays! It’s a malicious and harmful program from top to bottom. Once you’ve detected its presence, don’t allow it to stay even a moment more on your PC! Delete it upon discovery! It’s the best course of action you can take.

How did I get infected with?

How do you suppose you get stuck with MyShopMate? After all, it cannot just appear one day, and claim your PC as ‘home.’ Applications like it require user’s permission to install themselves. Your permission. They have to seek you consent on their installation, and unless you grant it, they cannot enter. So, it’s obvious that you gave it. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be in your current predicament. But how? How did you agree to allow such a malicious tool into your system? Well, it’s pretty straightforward. One possibility is that you went on its official website, and downloaded it from there. Don’t ever do that. It’s a huge mistake. Another valid possibility is that it snuck in undetected. And, you only became aware of its presence once the ads started coming in. To accomplish the sneaky infiltration, the PUP turns to trickery and deceit. It dupes you into installing it while keeping you oblivious. It does so via the old but gold methods of invasion. That includes posing as a fake update. Like, Java or Adobe Flash Player. It can also hide behind corrupted links or sites. Or, use freeware and spam email attachments as a shield to conceal itself. Whichever means, it chooses to turn to, it relies on your carelessness. Cyber infections prey on your distraction, naivety, and haste. So, don’t grant it!

Why are these ads dangerous?

MyShopMate is an ad-supported program. Its entire existence rests on its ability to produce profits for the people that published it. It has to generate pay-per-click revenue and web traffic. If it fails, it gets taken down. It’s as simple as that. So, all the ads you see, they’re not displayed to help you. They’re helping the program to survive. That’s why you see so many. The more ads that appear, the better the chances you press them and extend the tool’s existence. And, don’t think MyShopMate takes any chances! It doesn’t. The application leaves nothing to luck. It doesn’t show you random ads. Oh, no. It does its homework on you and learns what you like. Then, it floods you with appropriate pop-ups. Ones, which will spark your interest and result in a click. But how do you suppose it makes that distinction? Between right and wrong ads? Well, it spies on you. The PUP monitors your online habits to understand what your unique preferences include. And, once it does, the bombardment of specially selected ads begins. But the program doesn’t stop at just spying on you. It also keeps a thorough record of your every move. It gathers all the information it gets its hands on, and then sends it to the third parties behind it. That includes your personal and financial data. Think about it. Strangers with agendas will have access to your private life. And, once they get your information, they can use it as they see fit. Are you going to let them?
