How did I get infected with?
Adware applications have to follow certain rules before installment. If the tool is to proceed with install, you have to allow it. It’s quite simple. Let’s elaborate. An adware has to ask you, the user, whether you agree to let it into your system. Only after you confirm that you do agree, can it carry on. Until you give it the green light, no admission. Antanna is no exception. Though, adware tools do have to follow rules, it doesn’t mean they can’t bend them a little. Most cyber infections have found ways to seek your consent, but do it in a way that keeps you clueless. They use trickery and subtlety, and fool you into admitting an infection into your system. You are oblivious to your actions. That entire scheme relies on one key ingredient. Your carelessness. If you’re not careless but are, instead, vigilant, odds are, you’ll catch the adware in the act. You’ll spot it attempting to slither in, and stop it. That’s why doing your due diligence is so crucial. It saves you countless issues and headaches. Take the time to read the terms and conditions. Remember that next time you’re installing tools or updates. Don’t choose distraction over caution. Luck only takes you so far. And, often times, relying on luck is a one-way street to infections. Attention goes a long way, and helps keep an infection-free PC.
Why is this dangerous?
As was stated above, Antanna is an ad-supported program. In case, you’re unfamiliar what that means, it’s simple. The tool’s existence rests on its ability to make money. If it’s to continue its operations, it has to generate revenue. And, it attempts to do that by creating web traffic for third-party websites. As well as, pay-per-click profits. In other words, your screen gets overrun with ads and suspicious links. Every time you browse, you get flooded with pop-ups and redirects. And, don’t think, the tool shows you randoms ones. Oh, no. It only displays ‘appropriate content.’ Everything you see got chosen for you, and you alone. Before the adware begins its bombardments and intrusions, it studies you. It spies on your online activities to learn your likes and interests. Once it gets to know you, and what appeals to you, the selection begins. The application picks what pop-ups and pages have a better shot at enticing enough to cause a click. And, clicks are what matter. Not your system’s well-being. Not your private life remaining private. The program doesn’t care about the consequences, you face, as long as there’s revenue. Every time you so much as touch your browser, you suffer an avalanche of disruptions. And, that incessant online invasion doesn’t go unnoticed. Not long after it begins, your system starts to suffer frequent crashes. Your computer slows down to a crawl, as well. And, then, there’s the privacy risk. As was mentioned, you face a risk your private life may get exposed. The Antanna program doesn’t stop at only monitoring your browsing. It takes it a step further from spying, and records everything. The tool catalogs every move you make. Then, after it determines it has stolen enough data from you, sends it. To whom? Well, to the third parties behind it. Malicious cyber criminals with agendas. Those are the people that get a hold of your personal and financial details. The question is, are you going to allow that? Or, will you do yourself a favor, and avoid the risk? Do what’s best for you and your system, and pick the latter. Get rid of the Antanna infection ASAP.
