How did I get infected with?

So you didn’t download it yourself, then how did this program end up on your computer? Unfortunately, you may not like the answer to that question. Adware infections still need your permission to get installed so if you encounter Web Security’s devious presence on your PC, that means that at some point you agreed to download it. The virus usually applies stealthy techniques and you may not even notice that you give green light to the parasite. That secretive and sly behavior could be extremely dangerous because the Web is filled with infections and they all could infiltrate your computer using the very same method. The most plausible scenario is that Web Security was bundled with some free programs that you downloaded off of the Internet. Unless you choose the Advanced/Custom option in the Setup Wizard, you never know exactly what gets installed so you could compromise your own machine. Make sure you never fall into this trap again and always deselect any unfamiliar program that tries to sneak in behind your back. Your cyber security is your number one priority, isn’t it?

Why are these ads dangerous?

After everything we already said, it’s pretty clear that the Web Security parasite could be incredibly dangerous. This nasty thing adds a browser extension to Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and it also does so in complete silence. Your permission (or the lack of it) is utterly irrelevant. The Web Security add-on infects all your browsers with an endless pile of commercials that the parasite displays on every single web page you attempt to visit. Therefore, most of your browsing time will be wasted removing ads, avoiding commercials and closing additional tabs or windows. The virus offers quite an impressive amount of pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, interstitials, in-texts, hyperlinks, video ads, etc. and it’s safe to say that your online experience will be effectively disturbed. Not only are the advertisements stubborn and intrusive, they are also very dangerous. The parasite is ad-supported which means its developers get paid to show you the ads and there’s no guarantee whether the link you click would be safe or corrupted. If it’s safe, you should consider yourself quite lucky. If it’s corrupted, though, you might end up accidentally installing malware on your already infected device. We assume you wouldn’t want a collection of parasites on your computer, so we highly recommend you to delete Web Security as soon as possible. In order to do so manually, please follow the comprehensive removal guide we’ve prepared for you down below.
