Trosak Ransomware is a variant of the infamous STOP/DJVU Ransomware. This virus is a nightmare. It slithers into your system through deception and wrecks everything. The virus scans your device for user-generated data. It is after your pictures, music, databases, archives, documents. The virus wastes no time and locks your precious data with strong encryption algorithms. It gets your files under lock and key and drops a ransom note. The threat actors demand $490 paid in Bitcoin. They threaten to double the amount if you fail to start the payment procedure within 72 hours. Do not fall for this trick. Don’t rush. Slow things down! Take a moment to consider the situation. You are in trouble. Trosak is a nasty ransomware virus. Currently, there are no third party decryption tools for this virus. Its lock is unbreakable. Paying the ransom, however, is not advisable. You are dealing with criminals. They are notorious for double-crossing their victims. The crooks promise a lot, but they don’t deliver. You cannot expect them to keep their part of the deal. Do not give into naivety. Don’t become a sponsor of their criminal activities. Consider discarding your files. If you have backups saved on external devices or clouds, you can use them to restore your data. Just make sure that the virus is completely removed before you attempt any file-recovery procedures.
How did I get infected with?
Trosak Ransomware slithers into your system through deception. It employs the old but gold distribution strategies. Trosak relies on spam campaigns, Trojans, torrents, fake updates, and corrupted links. It lurks in the shadows and waits for an opportunity to attack. The virus strikes when you let your guard down. Do not make that mistake. No anti-virus app can protect you if you throw caution to the wind. The ransomware preys on your naivety and carelessness. Your vigilance, on the other hand, prevents the virus from infecting your OS. Always take the time to do your due diligence. Don’t visit questionable websites. Don’t follow suspicious links. Download software and updates from reliable (preferably official) sources only. And, of course, be very careful with your inbox. Whether it’s an instant message or an email, treat all unexpected messages as potential threats. Always verify their senders. If, for example, you receive an email from an organization, go to their official website. Compare the email addresses listed there to the questionable one. If they don’t match, delete the pretender. You can also enter the suspicious addresses into a search engine. If they were used for questionable activities, someone might have complained online. Even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems.
Why is Trosak dangerous?
Trosak is a complete and utter menace. As soon as it invades, corruption follows. The virus locks your data and adds the “.trosak” extension to each corrupted file. Everything with that extension is inaccessible. You can still see the icons of your pictures, documents, databases, but you cannot view or edit them. Creating new files is also pointless. Everything you save gets locked immediately. That’s the nature of the ransomware. It makes your computer useless. That’s the plan! The threat actors push you into paying the ransom. Do not swing into action, though. Don’t pay the ransom. Such actions won’t accomplish anything. The hackers demand Bitcoin. This currency is untraceable. No one can help you get your money back if something goes wrong. And that’s inevitable. Bear in mind that the hackers tend to ignore the victims once they receive the money. There are cases when the victims paid just to be blackmailed for more. There are also instances when the victims received nonfunctional decryption tools. Do not test your luck! You cannot win against experienced criminals. These cunning manipulators know how to lure you into unwanted actions. Your best course of action is the immediate removal of the virus. Find where Trosak lurks and delete it upon detection. Remove this nasty virus ASAP!
