Once you look past the sugary layer of marketing, it’s evident that everything the tool promises is a lie. Don’t fall for its deceit! It may claim to be useful, and reliable, and cost-effective as it, supposedly, helps you save, but a closer inspection reveals all that to be bogus. In reality, the application is deceitful, damaging, and dangerous to both yourself and your system. It’s intrusive and presents you with a ton of issues, ranging from a slower PC performance to a security risk. How did I get infected with?

Shopswell is quite a resourceful infection. It not only manages to fool you into installing it but also keeps you oblivious to it. The tool’s favorite means of invasion is through freeware as it provides possibly the easiest access point. That’s because, for some unknown reason, users consciously choose to throw all caution to the wind when installing freeware. Instead of doing their due diligence and thoroughly familiarizing themselves with the terms of conditions, they’re asked to agree to, they just say ‘Yes’ to all of them. Needless to say, that’s a horrible strategy. One, which almost always results in horrendous repercussions. Don’t even give into naivety, haste, and distraction. Don’t rely on luck or chance. Be more vigilant. More often than not, even a little extra attention can end up saving you a ton of troubles. Some of the other ticks, which the application tends to turn to when trying to invade your PC involve hiding behind corrupted links or sites, or spam email attachments. Also, a preferred method of infection is pretending to be a fake system or program update, like Java or Adobe Flash Player. Always be extra cautious and thorough. It counts in the long run.

Why are these ads dangerous?

Shopswell is an ad-supported program. That means that if it’s to proceed with its operations, the tool is required to generate revenue. If it fails, it gets taken down and falls into oblivion. So, its end game is profit. And, not for you. Oh, no. It’s for the people behind the application. The ones, who have published it and programmed it to wreak havoc and make such a mess. These unknown individuals have designed the PUP to flood with pop-up advertisements continuously in the hopes that you end up pressing them, and generate pay-per-click revenue. Clicking on the application’s ads is good news for these strangers, but bad news for you. Why? Well, the ads, you’ll see each time you try to browse the web, are immensely unreliable. They’re bundled with various malicious tools, just waiting to slither into your system and corrupt it. And, every time you press a pop-up, you unknowingly agree to install the malware, it’s hiding. So, unless you with to flood your PC with more unwanted infections, don’t press a single ad! Or, what would be even better, delete the Shopswell tool at once. That way, you’ll keep your system safe from further infections, and also protect your private life. Oh, that’s right. Among everything else, the program will put you through, it will also threaten your personal and financial information. It’s designed to spy on you from the moment it settles on your PC. It keeps track of your browsing habits and catalogs every move you make online. Then, it proceeds to send the data it has collected from you to the unknown third parties behind it. So, this raises the question: Are you willing to hand your private life to strangers with unknown, possibly wicked, agendas? Think long and hard before you reply as both your and your system’s future rest on your response.
