How did I get infected with?

JollyWallet invades your PC quite skillfully. It’s so masterful in its infiltration that you don’t even realize it. Not until it chooses to clue you into its presence. Oh, yes. The adware application is a master of sneaking in undetected. It uses trickery and deceit, and gains entry without you even being aware of it. That may sound a bit alarming, considering the tool needs your permission to enter. But it’s true nonetheless. As for the mechanics of how exactly it manages to do that, it’s quite simple. It fools you. It turns to every trick in the book to dupe you into giving it the green light while keeping you oblivious. More often than not, it uses freeware as a shield to hide behind. That’s because, for reasons unknown, users throw caution to the wind during their installs. They’re not vigilant or thorough. They don’t do their due diligence. They rush and rely on luck. That’s a horrible strategy. One, which almost always leads to negative consequences. Understand that infections prey on carelessness. So, it should come as no surprise that if you’re careless, you’re way more likely to get stuck with a cyber threat. Don’t be careless! Don’t give into gullibility and haste. Pick caution. Even a little extra attention goes a long way.

Why are these ads dangerous?

JollyWallet is an ad-supported tool. In other words, its entire existence rests on ads. Or rather, generating pay-per-click revenue and web traffic via ads. That’s why it displays so many pop-up advertisements. If it’s to continue its operations, it has to get you to click on as many of them as possible. If it fails in its mission and does not produce profits, it falls into oblivion. The people that published it take it down, and it ceases to exist. Naturally, the PUP does everything in its power to avoid the fate of oblivion. First of all, don’t think it shows you random ads and hopes for the best. Oh, no. The malicious tool leaves nothing to chance! It makes sure to only display ads, which are likely to spark your interest. And, thus, get you to press them. But how do you suppose it knows which ads are those? How does the tool make the distinction between the right and wrong ones to display? Well, it’s pretty straightforward. It studies you. The program spies on you. It monitors your online habits to get a better sense of what you like and dislike. When it learns what appeals to you, the bombardment commences. It selects the ads for you, and you see them all the time. But no matter how enticing they seem, do NOT press them! Not even one! The ads, which JollyWallet floods you with, are highly unreliable. They hide a multitude of cyber threats and pose a grave malware risk. If you click on one, you risk unknowingly agreeing to install unwanted tools on your PC. So, avoid them altogether. Or, better yet, find and delete the JollyWallet tool. That way, you’ll also protect your private life from falling into the hands of strangers. Oh, yes. The PUP doesn’t just observe your browsing activities. It keeps a thorough record of every move you make. And, after it deems it has enough data, it sends it to the third parties that published it.
