How did I get infected with?
Deal Runner has to get your permission before its installation, but don’t think that this tiny detail slows it down. The program is quite resourceful when it comes to sneaking in your computer undetected. It has an entire array of tricks up its sleeve with which to dupe you into approving it in without you even realizing it. More often than not, it invades your PC by slyly hiding behind freeware as it provides possibly the easiest way in. That’s because most users pay little to no attention during its installation. Instead of carefully reading the terms and conditions, they agree to everything in haste. If you WISH to end up with adware like Deal Runner, proceed to do just that. But if you don’t, be more attentive! Other preferred methods of infiltration include the use of spam email attachments, corrupted links, and websites. Also, it can pose as a false system or program update.
Why are these ads dangerous?
Deal Runner doesn’t bombard you with pop-up advertisements for no reason. The program’s entire existence depends on its ability to generate web traffic and produce pay-per-click profits for the third parties who support it. Each ad, you are tricked into clicking on, is cash for these individuals. However, it is NOT recommended to click on them as they are highly unsafe and will most likely lead to more malware installations. So, no matter how enticing the pop-ups seem, ignore them! Since they will appear incessantly, they’ll lead to a slower computer performance and frequent system crashes. However, these issues will seem pretty insignificant compared to the fact that Deal Runner places your privacy in harm’s way. The tool is programmed to act as a spy and steal your private details. Immediately after invasion it starts to keep track of your browsing activities and catalog everything. Once it gathers enough information, it sends it to the unknown wicked people behind it. Are you willing to risk granting access to your personal and financial data to strangers with malevolent intentions? Think long and hard before you answer.
