With it around, you suffer redirects, pop-up ads, a malware risk, slower PC, system crashes, et cetera. But apart from everything else it puts you through, the PUP also places your privacy at risk. It’s designed that way. Like most cyber threats, it follows programming to steal and expose your private data. And, make no mistake! It WILL succeed if you delay acting against it. The tool begins to spy on you as soon as it enters your system. It keeps close track of your online activities. And, records every move you make while browsing. After it deems it has collected enough information, it goes on to send it. To whom, you wonder? Well, to the third parties that unleashed it onto the web. In other words, to cyber criminals. Are you willing to give these people access to your personal and financial data? Or, would you rather, protect it? What if you say ‘No?’ Instead, it uses finesse, and it still does seek access. Only, in a manner more under the radar than you’d like. For example, the PUP often pretends to be a program or system update. It’s a fake, but you realize that when the damage’s already done.
