How did I get infected with?
Dunno Setup is not a virus but a simple app. As such, it can’t get installed without your, the user’s, approval. The appearance of its ads, of course, is a clear sign that the adware knows how to lure people into installing it. This parasite is a deceiver. It hides in bundles, fake updates, corrupted links, spam messages, and pirated software. It lurks in the shadows and waits for you to let your guard down. Do not make that mistake! No anti-virus app can protect you if you throw caution to the wind. Only your actions can prevent infections. The good news is that even a little extra attention can spare you an avalanche of problems. The adware, just like many other parasites, prey on your naivety. Your vigilance, on the other hand, prevents their tricks from succeeding! So, make the right decision. Choose caution over carelessness. Always take the time to do your due diligence. Don’t visit shady websites. Download software and updates from reliable sources only. And forget about the “Next-Next-Finish” setup strategy. If available, use the advanced/custom option. Deselect the unwanted bonus apps and go through the terms and conditions. Don’t hesitate to abort the installation if you notice anything suspicious!
Why is this dangerous?
Dunno Setup is a nightmare. It pauses your videos, redirects your web traffic, bombards you with banners. You can’t so much as touch your browser without getting flooded with its pop-ups. The parasite interferes with your every activity and ruins your web browsing. It, however, is more dangerous than annoying. Do not underestimate the intruder! Dunno Setup jeopardizes your security and privacy. If you take a close look at its ads, you’ll realize that you are in serious trouble. The ads are not random but targeted at you. That’s how the parasite operates. It studies your online habits and uses your preferences against you. The adware bases its ads on the websites you visit, the links you follow, the videos you watch. Even the Incognito mode can’t hide you. This parasite spies on your every online move. Do you think that ends well? Dunno Setup exists to generate revenue for its criminal owners. These people don’t have your best interest in mind. When their adware collects enough data, they proceed to sell everything. If you run out of luck, some pieces of the data, your search queries, for example, may leak personal and financial details. Do not risk it! Protect yourself and your privacy. Take action against the parasite. Remove the adware before it gets a chance to cause you harm.
