Can’t Remove iLivid ads? This page includes detailed ads by iLivid Removal instructions!
According to its official website, iLivid by Bandoo is a perfectly safe online application that allows you to “watch any video format and download videos from many popular hosting websites”. Sounds appealing, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, behind the alluring facade of a perfectly safe program, this thing is incredibly malicious. Just like most of the widely advertised PC applications on the Web, iLivid has been classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and its true colors are much more different than what you were originally promised. Well, to be honest, having in mind that we’re talking about a nasty computer virus, it goes without saying that hackers would try to make you believe that their creation is useful. What else could you expect out of crooks, the truth? Since the moment iLivid successfully infects your computer, it starts generating advertisements like nobody’s business so even seeing the PC screen becomes quite a struggle, let alone actually using your machine the way you used to before the parasite got installed. Its infamous developer, Bandoo Media Inc. seems to be very ambitious to fill in the Web with infections and iLivid is just the nth malicious parasite created by this company that you should stay away from. This potentially unwanted application tirelessly bombards you with pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, interstitials, video ads and many more web links you never really asked for; in addition it modifies some of your browser settings (behind your back, of course), then it installs additional toolbars and other software completely without your permission and, to top it all, sneakily spies on your personal information at the same time. The whole thing happens while iLivid promises to enhance your Internet experience. Long story short, it doesn’t, so the most reasonable step you could possibly take is to uninstall the parasite in an instant. Trust us on this one, you won’t regret it.
How did I get infected with?
The iLivid parasite usually travels the Web the way most infections do – via lies and deceit. That means, if this nuisance of a program somehow ended up installed on your machine, chances are, you have no idea how and when exactly this happened. Cyber viruses are incredibly sneaky and mainly apply stealthy techniques so not only is your computer compromised but you also remain oblivious to the moment of installation. That’s what hackers aim for. The more time a parasite manages to spend on your PC system in silence, the more dangerous it is for your security and privacy (and nerves), so it’s highly recommended to ALWAYS keep an eye out for potential threats while surfing the Web. This pest is not even the most dangerous thing you might accidentally install on your machine and yet, it’s just malicious enough to cause you serious damage. To prevent virus infiltration, make sure you’ve selected the Custom option in advance every time you download freeware/shareware bundles. This way you will be able to remain in control of the programs that get your permission and deselect the ones you don’t want on board. Remember, you own cyber security depends on your very own caution. Another popular distribution methods are third-party commercials, spam messages from unknown senders, spam email-attachments, etc. As you can see, the Web is filled with dangers and it’s entirely up to you whether your computer will remain virus-free or the machine will be compromised.
Why are these ads dangerous?
First and foremost, the nasty iLivid parasite usually invades your PC system in stealth which speaks loudly about any program’s reliability. Even if you did download it voluntarily because you believed the fake functionalities promised by its official website, you are soon to be convinced that they are… well, fake. Keep in mind that nothing generated by this parasite could be trustworthy so the sooner you get rid of it, the better. Once the virus manages to trick you into installing it, iLivid by Bandoo adds a malicious browser extension to all your browsers including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. It’s obvious that from this moment on, the program’s manipulations simply cannot remain unnoticed. The virus makes even further modifications to your browser settings without bothering to ask for your consent first. Being an ad-supported parasite, iLivid generates web traffic because its developers gain profit through the dubious pay-per-click mechanism. Therefore, keeping it on board makes you a sponsor to cyber criminals. Is that what you want? Apart from the questionable web links that iLivid spews in your face, the parasite also poses a direct threat to your privacy as it monitors your entire browsing-related activities. Crooks tend to sell the data collected to some extremely unreliable third parties for marketing purposes but no matter what tactic they may use, you’re in danger. As if that wasn’t enough, due to the parasite’s sly presence on your machine, the PC speed will be significantly slowed down till the computer itself is practically unusable. Why would you need iLivid on your computer system again? This isn’t the reliable download manager it was supposed to be and you have absolutely no reason to keep tolerating its never-ending pile of shenanigans, tricks and potential dangers. If you want to delete the pest manually, please follow the detailed removal guide that you will find down below.
