How did I get infected with?
SongLyrics resorts to the usual antics to gain access to your system. The program is quite resourceful and masterful when it comes to fooling you into agreeing to install it. In fact, it’s so skilled that, it not only dupes you into approving it in, but also keeps you oblivious that you did. You have no clue that you have a dangerous tool lurking somewhere on your computer until it decides to reveal itself. SongLyrics prays on your naivety, haste, and distraction. It relies on the old but gold methods of invasion to sneak in undetected. More often than not, it hitches a ride with freeware as it provides possibly the easiest entry point. That’s because users pay little to no attention during its installation. They rush the process and skip reading the terms and conditions altogether. Instead, they agree to everything and hope for the best. Well, that’s a horrendous idea that results in horrible consequences. But by the time they learn the error of their ways, the damage is already done. If you wish to NOT get stuck with SongLyrics and be forced to deal with its ever-growing pile of troubles, be more careful and don’t rush! After all, a little extra attention can go a long, long way.
Why are these ads dangerous?
SongLyrics claims that it’s a helpful tool. Supposedly, the application assists you in seeing the lyrics for video clips. It’s also presented as a type of karaoke. It enables you to sing along with the lyrics while, at the same time, you’re able to watch both the video and the said lyrics, just like you would at a karaoke party. Unfortunately, once you look past the smoke and mirrors of marketing, it becomes quite evident that this tool harms you much more than help you. The negatives far outweigh the positives as SongLyrics is nothing more than a mere adware application. And, it bombards you with so many pop-ups because it’s ad-supported. That means that its existence rests on its ability to generate pay-per-click revenue and web traffic for the people that support it. Each ad it fools you into clicking on produces profits for these unknown individuals. If it fails to trick you into clicking on its ads, it ceases to exist. Whatever you do, do NOT click on even one of these pop-ups! They’re extremely unreliable. Even a single click on a single ad leads to you unwillingly agreeing to install more malevolent tools. So, do your best to ignore them. Unfortunately, the malware threat won’t be your biggest problem, courtesy of SongLyrics. The worst issue you’ll be faced with will be the severe security risk. As soon as it slithers its way in, the application starts spying on you. It keeps track of your online activities and catalogs your every move. When it determines it has gathered enough data from you, it sends it to the unknown people behind it. Are you willing to hand your personal and financial information to wicked strangers with questionable intentions? Think long and hard before you decide.
