When a computer is infected with adware, no browsing session can go without various ads appearing on the screen while the user is trying to read an article, view an item, place an order, and so on. If the ads are labeled, it is easy to determine which is the adware program causing them to appear. In case you are presented with ads labeled as “Ads by LowPrices”, it is obvious that the LowPrices application has been installed on your system. Ads by LowPrices will surely annoy you because they will appear very often and will take up quite a lot of space on your screen. They will offer you deals for similar products that are supposed to enhance your online shopping experience by helping you save time and money. Unfortunately, since LowPrices is classified as adware, that is not very likely to happen. Instead of benefit you the application and its ads will put your virtual security at risk, which is you have to remove it from the PC as soon as possible.
How did I get infected with?
LowPrices is not a newly developed application and it used to have an official representative website in the past. Now the website no longer exists, so if it has managed to gain access to your system, it most probably did so with the help of bundled downloads. This means that the installer of LowPrices has been packed up with the installers of other adware programs, fake AV tools, and browser hijackers, and they have all been attached to the installers of free applications promoted at unofficial file sharing websites. If you downloaded such an application, during its setup all additional programs, including LowPrices, have been installed as well. You were probably informed about them by the setup wizard and were given the opportunity to decline them. We also assume that did not pay attention to the installation steps and that is how you ended up with LowPrices on your system. Maybe next time when you install freeware you will be more attentive so that you can avoid applications like LowPrices.
Why are these ads dangerous?
Adware applications may be intrusive, but they are not malicious. They can only damage your system as much as you let them. In fact, it is the ads that are to blame for the possible damages, not the applications. Same as any other adware program, LowPrices is vulnerable towards third-party exploitation. This is adware applications’ main drawback and is the reason why you should not tolerate their existence on the PC. The ads displayed by LowPrices contain links to third-party websites about which there is no information provided. There is a great chance that the third parties will be cyber criminals and their websites will be spreading malware. Thus, landing on such a website will put your system at risk by infecting it with all kinds of malicious viruses. We hope that knowing this will stop you from clicking any ads by LowPrices and that you will take immediate measures for its removal.
