Suddenly eTogether took over your homepage and you cannot remove it.
eTogether is a malicious cyber infection, which belongs to the hijacker family. Browser hijackers are notoriously invasive and harmful, and unless you take immediate action towards their removal from your system, you may end up buried up to your neck in troubles and headaches. In fact, there’s no ‘maybe’ about it. Delete the infection as soon as you become aware of its presence or you WILL regret it as it WILL plague you with an avalanche of unpleasantness. These tools are quite intrusive, so it’s no wonder they reveal their existence by meddling. It will begin with taking over your screen by replacing your default search engine and homepage with etogether.com. And, not just that. It will also redirect you to that page each time you attempt to surf the web. Each time, no exceptions! So, you’ll become quite accustomed to seeing the site show up. Its forced appearance will plague you incessantly. But it doesn’t end with merely that one reshuffle. Oh, no. Hijackers can implement as many changes as they wish. Let’s explain. For example, if the tool wants to, it can open your system to more unwanted malware. It can install as many malicious applications as it desires without bothering to clue you in, or ask permission to do so. That’s a dangerous trait, and one, which may result in some pretty nasty consequences. Don’t allow that to happen! Follow experts’ advice, and do what’s best for you and your system! As soon as you realize there’s a cyber threat, lurking on your computer, find its hiding place, and delete it immediately! The sooner you get rid of it, the better!
How did I get infected with?
eTogether cannot enter your PC without your explicit approval. And, since it’s currently wreaking havoc, it’s safe to assume that you gave it. The tool is bound to ask permission to install itself, and if you don’t grant it, it cannot enter. However, don’t think it’d be easy to spot and turn down – it’s not. Hijackers are crafty, resourceful, and sneaky. eTogether employs deceit and finesse since it cannot openly come out and ask for approval (because you’d deny it access). So, it turns to trickery. The hijacker dupes you into agreeing to install it via deception and subtlety. Its usual antics involves the old but gold means of infiltration as they’ve proven their worth over time. That includes pretending to be a bogus system or program update, like Java or Adobe Flash Player. Or, hiding behind corrupted links or sites, freeware or spam email attachments. As you can see, each relies on your carelessness. In fact, most cyber threats prey on it. That’s why if you wish to avoid getting stuck with one, you must be extra cautious and thorough, and never give into gullibility and haste. Always do your due diligence, and you just might manage to keep your PC infection-free.
Why is this dangerous?
eTogether will quickly become the bane of your browsing. After the tool invades your system, it hardly wastes time before it attacks. First, it switches your default search engine and homepage to etogether.com and ensures you are greeted with the site each time you surf the web. Then, it commences a full-on bombardment with pop-up advertisements each and every time you try to go online. Pretty soon your browsing activities will be nothing more than you seeing an endless stream of ads and redirects. And, since these disruptions will be frequent and, basically, ever-present, they’ll promptly lead to more troubles. Not long before they begin taking place, the intrusions will result in your computer’s performance slowing down to a crawl, and your system crashing on a regular basis. Add to these minor, consistent annoyances the malware danger, which was already mentioned, and it becomes quite apparent that eTogether is not a threat to be trifled with. Don’t underestimate the dangers the hijacker can, and will, cause if you let it. It WILL expose you to an abundance of grievances. Why put up with it? You have nothing to gain but problems. Furthermore, the hijacker places your personal and financial information in grave jeopardy. Oh, yes. The nasty tool is designed to spy on you. From the moment it enters your PC, it keeps track of your online activities and catalogs your every move. Then, once it deems it has enough data from you, it sends it to the unknown third parties that published it. Once they have it, they can use it as they see fit. So, the question is, are you willing to trust strangers with your private life or are you going to play it safe and remove the danger before it becomes such a threat to both you and your system? Think long and hard before you answer, a lot rests on your decision.
